Welcome to the December edition of Product Liability Bitesize - your regular update on the product liability landscape
When we first started producing these quarterly updates covering all things product liability (check our earlier editions), we wondered whether there would be enough news to fill the pages, from what is (after all) a relatively niche area. But the fact that this is our largest edition yet just goes to show the breadth of issues which product liability touches upon and the extent to which the area has been developing and maturing in the last year or so, particularly in its attempts to keep up with advancing technologies.
Some highlights from this edition include:
- The European Commission’s proposal of a revised Product Liability Directive
- Recent developments on automated vehicles and e-scooters
- Analysis of emerging product risks
- Food policy updates from the Government and Food Standards Agency
