Paul is a specialist insurance and reinsurance lawyer with over 25 years’ experience acting for Lloyd’s Syndicates, London companies, overseas insurers and reinsurers, and run-off companies on all aspects of insurance and reinsurance coverage.

His particular focus is on risks resulting in property damage under first party property and third-party liability covers, including property owners’, public and products liability.  Many of his claims are technically complex with an international element and his experience includes multiple losses under global insurance programmes involving the aggregation and allocation of losses.

Paul is often instructed to defend liability claims.  He’s active in construction & engineering disputes, and connected product liability claims, and often represents contractors.  He has expertise in the application of industry standard DE exclusions and the use of JCT standard wordings and NEC3.

With a detailed knowledge of the insurance market, Paul’s advice and the solutions offered are especially tailored to the commercial and regulatory needs of his clients.  He is familiar with all forms of dispute resolution, including multi-party mediation, litigation and arbitration.

Paul regularly advises insurers on related claims against brokers and coverholder/binding authority disputes.
