Catastrophic & Complex Injury

Peter has worked with insurance companies for more than 30 years and has specialised in catastrophic personal injury work since 1992. Peter primarily deals with large loss cases arising from road traffic collisions and his specialist areas of expertise include traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and multiple amputation. He is also experienced in claims by members of HM Forces and regularly deals with claims reserved in excess of £5m. In addition, Peter is experienced in drafting and advising in relation to Periodical Payments Orders, dealing with the requirements of re-insurers and auditing files on the instructions of re-insurers. Notable cases include McHugh (deceased) v Okai-Koi (2017) EWHC 710 QB,  Cockbill v Riley (2013), and Hopkins v Simmons (2010).
